Varonis joins Microsoft in announcing a new DSPM integration with Microsoft Purview. By integrating Varonis signals into Purview, data security teams gain unified visibility into sensitive data across third-party platforms like Salesforce alongside their Microsoft data.
“This security integration between Varonis and Microsoft Purview comes at a critical moment for AI adoption,” said Yaki Faitelson, CEO, and Co-Founder of Varonis. “This DSPM integration gives customers the confidence to safely adopt AI apps and agents by increasing visibility on sensitive data accessed by those tools.”
Data security partnership for the AI era
AI has ignited an explosion of data growth and sprawl. Organizations’ sensitive data lives in Microsoft 365, Azure, Salesforce, Snowflake, and countless other data platforms. Every blind spot is a potential breach.
Varonis’ integration with Purview helps customers see more, act faster, and reduce risk everywhere data lives. The collaboration eliminates blind spots, strengthens risk posture, and gives customers the confidence to connect AI agents to new data sources.
“Varonis is a trusted partner with Microsoft, helping customers extend visibility into data risks where it matters most,” stated Vasu Jakkal, Microsoft Security CVP. “Together, we can now deliver a more complete data risk picture.”
How it works
Customers can easily enable Varonis data signals in Purview to see data asset and risk information (such as permissions, location, sensitive information types) on their external data environments. The integration is currently available and seamlessly enabled through Microsoft Sentinel Data Lake and the Microsoft Purview portal.
The integration between Varonis and Microsoft Purview guides security practitioners from discovery to protection. Users will be notified of possible data risks in several areas, and one example is in the “Objectives” pane. From this view, users can double-click into “unmonitored data sources referenced by AI apps” to understand what data sources are used and how.
Microsoft customers can then activate the Varonis connector within the Purview Data Security Posture Management (DSPM) ecosystem and extend discovery capabilities beyond Microsoft environments to these previously unmonitored sources.
Organizations follow three simple steps to enable the Varonis connector for seamless integration. After establishing a Sentinel workspace and data lake, the connector can be enabled for security professionals to visualize some of the rich risk information from Varonis within Microsoft Purview.

As data begins to flow through this central connector, organizations unlock a fuller DSPM experience — starting with visibility into asset metadata and the ability to identify predetermined risks. Varonis reaches into third-party data sources like Snowflake, Databricks, AWS, and Salesforce, making it easier for customers to find and connect these sources in Microsoft Purview and gain a more comprehensive view of enterprise data risk.
Varonis and Microsoft are connecting the dots to streamline the process of identifying and addressing sensitive data exposures for AI. Customers will now be able to use aspects of Purview, like Asset explorer shown here, to view the location, sensitive information types and permissions for assets covered by Varonis.

Connecting to Varonis for added value
This new integration is essential for organizations aiming to understand their data landscape in Microsoft Purview and proactively address vulnerabilities only found with Varonis.
Together, Purview and Varonis help customers see more, act faster, and reduce risk everywhere data lives and AI can access it. The collaboration eliminates blind spots to strengthen risk posture and simplify security operations between solutions for a more secure multi-AI future.
