CRN Women of the Channel at Varonis

We’re delighted to share that CRN’s 2024 Women of the Channel Awards recognized three Varonis team members. Laura Johnson, Natalie Marty, and Rebekah McAdams were chosen for their expertise and vision in the channel sector.

With a combined 40 years of experience in this field, these award-winners demonstrate passion, innovation, and leadership, but acknowledge having the right people in place makes all the difference.

“Success hinges on a strong team,” said Natalie Marty, Varonis Director of Channel, West. “Recently, I've dedicated myself to coaching and guiding my team, prioritizing their success and deepening their understanding of our business. Empowering them as robust business partners has not only benefits our team but has also positively impacted our partners and their businesses.”

Rebekah McAdams, VP of Global Field and Channel Marketing, echoes those sentiments and adds that forging personal connections and finding common ground helps unite teams.

“I consider my superpower to be the ability to connect with individuals, transcending differences in background or interests,” she said. “As a ‘people person,’ I relish meeting others, understanding their communication preferences, and cultivating meaningful relationships.”

This skill has enabled me to foster trust and collaboration across business functions, facilitating connections between diverse individuals who might not typically interact.

Driving SaaS conversions

This award marks the fifth such recognition for Rebekah, who joined the Varonis team in 2023. She hit the ground running, identifying opportunities to align the channel organization with the company’s partners.

“Converting our customer base to SaaS was a key objective, so I created the ‘Switch to SaaS’ initiative so that sales, channel account managers, renewals, and marketing teams could collaborate to increase customer conversions.”

“Together, we built a global, cross-functional prescriptive strategy that increased SaaS conversions.”

Setting up partners for success

Known internally for being the glue that holds her team together, Director of Channel Operations Laura Johnson’s 27 years in the channel sector are a huge asset to Varonis. Her experience gives her a deep understanding of all aspects of the channel and markets, including OEMs, distributors, and alliances worldwide.

Laura often mentors new sales and channel team members and leadership. Her innate ability to work with vendors and partners to get things done sets her apart.

“Helping partners achieve success and delivering meaningful business value has always been a passion,” she said.

My goal is to create, improve, and deliver tools and resources available to our partners that will make them more effective in understanding their client's data governance needs.

This includes successfully launching the new partner portal and learning management system and continuing engagement with internal teams to ensure the business meets the channel goals and metrics.

Cultivating relationships

While Laura’s goals include driving partner success, Natalie has her eye on growing strategic relationships. Over the past year, Natalie worked to increase new partner talent, customer relationships, and sales acumen.

“Our mission is to seamlessly integrate our partners into every deal, ensuring their early and consistent involvement,” she said. “In the dynamic landscape of the data security market, we aspire not only to grow our revenue but also to enhance our relevance and impact with our partners.”

Together, we'll navigate this market surge, propelling our collective success to new heights in data security.

A catalyst for alliances, Natalie recognizes the untapped potential in individuals and ideas.

“As a leader, I witness the transformative power of uniting minds,” she said. “My team is building a proactive approach to partner engagement that focuses on building engaging programs that not only support the sales team but also bring pipeline growth to partners.”

Channel trailblazers

Jim O’Boyle, Varonis SVP of Global Sales, noted the exceptional achievement of these award-winners.

“We are exceptionally proud of our leaders for their contribution to the channel community and honored that they choose to work at Varonis,” he said. “We also appreciate the recognition from CRN, who — as the leading source for channel news, analysis, and insight  — knows tremendous talent when they see it.”
