Professional Services

Varonis Professional Services' mission is to provide Varonis customers with the best experience possible while fulfilling all aspects of our engagement. This is accomplished by assigning a dedicated Professional Services Engineer to each engagement - a single Varonis expert to each customer from start to finish. Our goal is to make sure that our customers can effectively use the product to fulfill all of their use cases and to efficiently use the product suite.

Time purchased from Varonis Professional Services can be used for Design and Planning of your environment, Varonis Project Management, Product Installation, Varonis Data Migration and Training. Please see a detailed description of these services below.

Design and Planning

Varonis Professional Services will help to size the necessary resources to deploy the product properly and efficiently. This includes Hardware, Virtual Machines and placement of Varonis probes in an environment. Professional Services will also provide best practices and information about functions such as backups, disaster recovery, future growth of the current file systems, etc.

Project Management

During a deployment of larger environments, Varonis Professional Services will provide a project manager who is solely responsible for seeing the deployment through from start to finish. At the request of the customer, the project manager will provide updated timelines and detailed information about the status of the implementation.

Product Installation

During the Installation process, Varonis Professional Services will work to deploy the Varonis product suite efficiently and with minimal impact to the business units. The installation process includes installing the product, configuration and product testing, such as health checks and timing of SQL jobs and services.

Product Migration

If a customer has a previous installation of the Varonis product that was either an Evaluation or production installation, Professional Services can assist in migrating the Varonis product suite to another server or location. This process typically involves an upgrade to the most recent version of the product suite followed by a migration of all databases to a freshly-configured SQL application server. This process will typically be used in the case of a customer needing more resources than are currently available on the existing servers.

Product Customization

Professional Services will assist in customizing the look and feel of our DataPrivilege product. This includes new logos and graphics for matching corporate branding and color scheme. Customization services include the customized look of the DataPrivilege Web Portal and Email Templates.

Product Training

Varonis Professional Services will provide product training to suit the customer's needs. These training sessions typically fall into three categories and are generally about four hour sessions:

  • Basic User Training is an overview of the products purchased to provide the customer with an idea of how to use these products and the available bells and whistles.
  • Advanced Administrator Training typically includes a look at configuring the product, as well as providing system administrators an idea of the innards of the SQL database structure and SQL jobs. Administrator training will also include advanced information about the architecture and Varonis data collection agents.
  • Remediation and Use Case Training is the practice by which Varonis Professional Services helps the customer understand how to use the product for their specific roles and internal processes. This training may include operational tasks like removal of the "Everyone" group for the Security Department or how to find inactive resources for the storage teams.

Office Hours

Varonis also offers customers a complimentary hour-long technical training session to address questions related to the Varonis products. These sessions are provided in a one-on-one environment over WebEx.
