Varonis Adds EMC Corporation to Growing Roster of Customers
EMC Selects Varonis’ DatAdvantage for Data Access Control and Auditing
NEW YORK - August 30, 2007 - Varonis Systems Inc. (http://www.varonis.com), the foremost innovator and provider of comprehensive, actionable data governance solutions, today announced it has added EMC Corporation to its growing roster of customers. The rapid growth of Varonis’ overall customer base continues to illustrate the importance of unstructured data protection and control.
"With more than 300 file servers and 30,000 users, EMC is no stranger to the challenges of scalable, protective technologies to manage the security of our company’s business-sensitive information," said Roland Cloutier, Chief Security Officer for EMC. "Varonis has enabled us to utilize our resources better by automating and facilitating the way in which we determine data permissions based on user business need. This is exactly what was missing in the unstructured data management realm, especially when you consider environments of our size. The general need for business operations protection and regulatory security pressures globally demand a reliable way of access management to revenue-affecting data. Until now, there were no automated solutions and, simply put, manual operations were not scalable to a multi-petabyte infrastructure."
Varonis’ DatAdvantage automates control of user-to-data access by computing and recommending access privileges based on analysis of user-access patterns and behavior. The Varonis recommendation generating technology is patent-pending and customer-proven to be multiple nines accurate. To further ease the burden on IT and security personnel, the recommended changes can be explicitly pushed into the live environment at an authorized administrator’s discretion, based on the customer’s roles and based on access policies. New features to version 3.0, which became available in July, include advanced search capabilities, enhanced scalability and expanded out-of-box reporting and auditing.
"Varonis is honored to welcome EMC to our rapidly expanding customer base," said Yaki Faitelson, president, CEO and founder of Varonis. "As the world’s leader in information infrastructure management and development, EMC recognizes that unstructured data governance doesn’t just mean benefits in terms of risk mitigation, but significant gains in the efficiency of monitoring and managing access to this data for the long term."
